A triplet is a slice of very high quality opal sandwhiched between tow other stones, the advantage is that the top "cap" protects the more fragile opal.

i have tried to take several photos to show off the colours but bear in mind that Opals look best in natural light, floursecent and flash lighting does not bring out the colours very well, movement is also required for best viewing.
