The reverse side of 000804a shows The Cross with the instruments of The Passion.

On the upright of the Cross, centrally, is shown the column where Jesus was whipped in the flagellation of Christ and the ropes used to bind Him. Standing at the top of the column is the cockerel whose crow accompanied Peter's third denial whilst at its feet is Christ's discarded seamless robe. The ladder used for the removal of Christ's dead body leans against the column as does the spear of Longinus and the spear with the sponge of gall and vinegar.

On the central crosspiece are shown, from left to right, the reed sceptre of mockery; the hand that slapped Christ's face; the hammer, saw, pincers and axe used to construct The Cross; the ear of the High Priest that was cut-off by Peter; and the whips used for the thirty-nine lashes.

Immediately above the cockerel is The Holy Grail used by Jesus at The Last Supper and which legend says was used by Joseph of Arimathea to catch Christ's blood at the crucifixion. To its left are, probably, representation dice used by the soldiers whilst gambling for Christ's robe and to the right the nails that inflicted the four wounds to hands and feet.

Above the Holy Grail is the Crown of Thorns and paramount is the Eye of God within the symbol of the Trinity confirming the suffering of Christ was an act of God to demonstrate His love for mankind and a desire for their salvation.
