Made by Wild and Wolf, this trowel is decorated with a vibrant chintz design by William Morris, entitled "Wandle".
William Morris called this pattern 'Wandle', after the river that ran through his Merton Abbey Works 'to honour our helpful stream'. The firm of Morris & Co. designed and produced a wide range of glass, tiles, furnishings and textiles which went on to become synonymous with the Arts and Crafts movement and the Victorian era as a whole. Design is from the V&A Collection.
