Watts Gallery, which opened in 1904, was built to provide a permanent exhibition for the studio collection of works of art belonging to George Frederic Watts OM, RA. Additions to the gallery were made in 1906 and during the 1930s. One hundred years later in 2004 the major 'Hope' restoration project was launched to ensure the future of the gallery for another hundred years. This guide can be used by visitors while they are at the gallery and/or as a souvenir of their visit afterwards. The guide outlines the history of G.F. and Mary Watts and the building of Watts Gallery, and provides information about the individual galleries and highlights within them.
