William De Morgan (1839-1917) is remembered for being one of the most innovative and orginal ceramicists of the 19th century. Born in Bloomsbury, London, he began his career as a painter and was associated with William Morris.
The designs feature two of De Morgan's designs, 'Beford Park Daisy' and 'Vertical Leaf' and was designed during De Morgan's Chelsea Period, 1872-1881. This design was influenced by 'Beford Park Daisy', a wallpaper design of William Morris.
